Gage - A resource for journalists, educators, policy makers and others seeking the expertise of women and gender diverse STEM professionals

500 Women Scientists's online database of Women Scientists was gaining traction but their rudimentary online database of women and gender-diverse STEM professionals was unable to scale. In our initial phase of work with the organization in 2019, we developed a web application for 500WS that allowed STEM professionals to sign up, create a profile and be found by those seeking their expertise. In a subsequent phase of work in 2021, we added a robust back-end user management and bulk email system, and made design upgrades to the initial application.

I was the sole designer working on the end-to-end research and design of the application. I worked on an agile development team with 3 developers and a project manager. I conducted a survey, developed personas, designed workflows, and produced wireframes and high fidelity mockups.
